  i really blew it yesterday.

  we had just gotten home from a very long day and we were contemplating what to do for dinner and then a knock at the door.

  the sister was back with an elder and he asked to speak to my husband...completely got his name wrong.

  fairchild:

  I do not condone pestering anybody. Your example of the pesky salesman is good. Been there ... done that. They never bother me after being told 'no, but thanks anyway'. I give the same respect to anyone who says the same to me about my message. I do usually call on them again in about a year.

  "Why go back?" ... circumstances change. People move. People change their minds

  If they are still not interested, I leave on friendly terms. I'm not there to antagonize anyone. The whole point is to present an option for each person to consider. The witness has been given and my conscience is clear.

  Why Georgia ...You are absolutely right. I have no business being here. I read over the threads though and the way you came down on two unsuspecting people was unsettling. In my own case, I have to say it would not get so far ... I don't agree with pushing people for an answer so would have left your house immediately. This is still inappropriate behaviour on your part. Did you let your policewoman neighbor read your first post here. If you do, let me know what she says. You in fact could be the one charged.

  Why Georgia:

  You have given a good outline of the whole situation. It all boils down to being only your business anyway. All I'm saying is that going by your first post on this thread ... you could have been more civil, no matter what your health concerns were. You do realize there are people who live with almost unbearable pain 24/7. They don't treat anybody as you did here. You cannot possibly condone that behaviour.

  You can dislike anyone for any reason ... that's your business. That does not give you license to mistreat anyone. In the end we are all responsible for our actions and you could have been sued by these gentlemen for threatening behaviour. Maybe time to give your actions some serious thought before you end up in a great deal of trouble.

  Anytime you feel you may go off the deep end ... read your first post here and see if you think that is rational behaviour. Let your neighbor policewoman read it too.

  Thanks for your response. I hope for your sake you keep the attitude you have today. My point all along was that the two gentlemen did have the right to visit your husband in the first place, without being threatened.

  The situation is totally different now and I'm sure they will honor your wishes. It sounds like they've only heard you say your husband doesn't want to talk to them. If he would speak up it could have been all handled without police intervention.

  In another life, my husband spoke for me. He had no right to. He spoke his thoughts and said they were mine. Each of us has the right to speak for ourselves.

  You are right. You've proved me to be a liar! You are wrong that I intended to come back though. Sometimes life throws you a curve ball and you retreat to places that were familiar. Not that there was any affection for me here but it was a familiar place.

  Yes, 'private property IS private property'. In WG's first post she threatened the two gentlemen. They were not there to see her. They were there to see 'hubby'. (Darling). They had every right to visit him without here harassing them. It seems that 'hubby' still hasn't told them to quit visiting. Maybe WG would do well to let 'hubby' speak for himself.

  In the same situation, not too many would return. You have to give these two gentlemen credit for their concern for said 'hubby'. In a household with that kind of language thrown around, he likely is afraid to cross her. Could cause serious health problems.

  Her order of restraint will hold water but I'm sure the police will add a note that she is unstable.
